Your support will help people who struggle with Multiple Sclerosis

Thanks to everyone who came out to the inaugural Freedom Ride to End MS, presented by Freedom 55 Financial!  Between the 115 riders, and our generous sponsors, we were able to raise over $42,000 that will help support local programs and services at the MS Society, Waterloo District Chapter.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year for an even bigger event!  Check back soon for details and photos of this years event!

Our mission is to enable people affected by multiple sclerosis to enhance their quality of life, raise funds for local programs and services, and support research towards finding a cure for multiple sclerosis.

Program Highlights

The Waterloo District Chapter was established to help people who are living with MS. We have never lost sight of this goal and work continually to both maintain historical programs and bring fresh new ideas forward.

Equipment and Special Assistance Funding

The Waterloo District Chapter has one of the largest equipment funds in Ontario, and last year spent more than $100,000 to help people purchase much needed
equipment, services and programs. We have helped to fund everything from stair lifts to housecleaning services, and we hope that our clients are secure in the knowledge that they can seek financial assistance from the Chapter in these areas.

The Special Assistance Funding program is efficiently administered out of the MS Society’s Toronto Divisional office, ensuring that every request is confidential, properly documented and supported, and that every request over $1,000 comes to your Board of Directors for approval. To date, the Chapter has never turned down a request, and it is important that our donors know that the dollars raised are being spent on what really matters.
